International Conference on Human Resource Management
March 29th & 30th, 2012
@ IBS Hyderabad, India

About The Conference

Human Resource Management, as a discipline has started as a transaction based management of workforce. The human resource policies, strategies, and practices were based on the premise of an exchange relationship between employees and employers, defined strictly in terms of financial returns for productivity. However, reflecting the changing employment trends, HRM has positioned itself as a comprehensive approach to manage knowledge workers. Moving away from a strictly reciprocal relationship between the employees and the company, this new approach focuses on recognizing the expertise of the employees through the HRM policies, strategies, and practices such that it leads to individual development, and organization’s growth. This change is particularly perceptible in a knowledge driven economy such as India.

This presents an opportune moment to reflect upon the evolving trends in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management in the recent past, how are those changes influencing the organizations' management of knowledge workers today, and what could be the way forward for these disciplines.
